Ova emisija je zasnovana na hit filmu o nižem od običnog momka koji pronalazi začaranu masku. Kada stavi masku, postaje potpuno ludi superheroj koji se bori protiv kriminala i pravi ogromnu produkciju od sebe. Može momentalno da promeni svoju odeću u nešto drugo, da deo tela promeni oblik, da izvuče bilo šta iz džepova, itd. Kad god Ipkis nosi masku, nema pravila. Za one koji veruju da je komičar Džim Keri zapravo crtani film prerušen u ljudski lik, sezona crtanih filmova 1995-1997 ponudila je obilje dokaza. Tri Kerijeva vozila u glavnoj ulozi prilagođena su malom ekranu: Glup i gluplji, Ejs Ventura: Detektiv kućnih ljubimaca i Maska. Od njih tri, Maska je verovatno bila najočigledniji izbor za adaptaciju. Igrani film je bio digitalno poboljšan ljudski crtani film, zasnovan na stripu Dark Horse.
